| The Kenai River is famous for the many trophy sized king salmon that are caught by sports fishermen each year. The season runs from mid-May through July. Peak periods are generally early to mid-June and mid-late July, although large fish are caught throughout the run. The world record (97 1/4 lbs.) was taken in mid-May. Silver salmon run from late July to mid-October with an early run peak in August and late run peak in September. Longmere Lake Lodge can arrange a fishing package with local, professional guides. All guides are bonded and licensed with the U.S. Coast Guard. |

The Kenai Experience The Kenai is a large, beautiful river that has produced many large king salmon. However, fishing on the lower Kenai River is far from a wilderness experience. Much of the lower river is developed and due to its popularity, you should expect to see many other boats and fishermen. We will do our best to give you a memorable and successful fishing experience; however, fish and luck are unpredictable.
